Client Profile

  • Industry: Public Services and Outsourcing (FTSE 250 Index)

  • Location: Belgium

  • Employees: 20,000+ (Europe)

The Challenge:

A Europe based, publicly listed organisation initiated a large scale HR digital transformation aligned with a group wide digital strategy. HR operations across nine European countries were supported by a fragmented HR IT landscape, consisting of more than 23 HR related applications.

This fragmentation resulted in limited integration, inconsistent data quality, and low maturity in reporting and analytics. HR processes varied significantly by country, reducing operational efficiency and limiting the organisation’s ability to scale and respond to changing business needs.

At group level, the organisation planned to implement SAP SuccessFactors as the global HR platform. To support this ambition, the organisation required a clear understanding of its existing HR IT landscape, structured readiness assessments, and strong program governance to coordinate multiple initiatives across Europe while managing local regulatory and operational constraints.

The Solution:

Technology: SuccessFactors | Tribepad | Replicon | SdWorx
Services: Program and Project Management Service | Digital Transformation Service | Implementation Service | Process Optimization Service | Change Management Service

Fishtank Consultancy was engaged as a central transformation and project management partner to support multiple HR digital initiatives across Europe.

The engagement covered Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, and The Netherlands, with a focus on harmonising HR solutions and preparing the organisation for a potential Europe wide SuccessFactors rollout.

Key solution elements included:

  • Analysis and delivery of a comprehensive HR IT landscape overview covering more than 23 applications

  • Readiness assessment, monitoring, and governance for the SuccessFactors program

  • Project management leadership to harmonise and implement a Europe wide Time Management solution

  • Introduction and establishment of Agile project management practices for a Europe wide Recruitment solution

  • End to end management of payroll implementations in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Italy, and Switzerland

The Approach

Fishtank Consultancy applied a structured program and project management approach, balancing group level alignment with local country requirements.

Clear governance structures, reporting standards, and decision making forums were introduced to improve transparency and coordination across countries. Agile principles were selectively applied, particularly within recruitment initiatives, to enhance collaboration, flexibility, and delivery speed.

Close coordination with local HR teams, IT, payroll vendors, and group stakeholders ensured that risks and dependencies were actively managed and that all initiatives remained aligned with the overall digital strategy.
